Positive Microskills Feedback

We receive a lot of negative feedback about the San Diego computer schools with many accusing them of being a rip off, but here is one student who is doing quite well in his chosen studies and career. He is your ideal Microskills student, a bit of a self-admitted super nerd (they say "the geeks shall inherit the earth") who has his own server at home and has some experience in the industry.

I like MicroSkills. It has been pretty good thus far. It's a hell of a lot cheaper than ITT for sure. I was basically faced with a decision. BS or Certs. I went for Certs because other people I know in the industry say Certs are almost always required no matter what. I had already got my A+ from a SWC course. I started MicroSkills and so far I have A+, N+, MCDST, MCSA. I'll have my MCSE probably by the end of next week after I take my Exchange Server 2003 exam. My alloted time frame is going to expire soon and I have not completed all my classes, however I
doubt anybody actually finishes their tracks that fast. Fortunately, they hand out extensions like candy. No problem at all.

Of the 15 or 20 people in my group from the beginning, I only see about 4 or 5 these days. This is probably where all the money comes from. Pay for all the ez classes and then everybody drops out before the free value added classes i.e. CCNA... I have failed only one exam, the first Server 2003 exam. Microsoft made that one a shocker. LOL. I have seen other people take exams over and over and over which is fine because all the exams are free. If you fail an exam 3 times, you have to sit the course again and then the cycle begins again. I for one will be finishing all my classes and certs and I won't drop out like so many others. I guess some people just aren't nerdy enough.
haha.

Note that he says that there is a high dropout rate. Keep in mind that before you sign up for one of these courses that there is a lot of work involved, the certification exams are very hard and there is a lot of competition for the limited computer jobs out there. Even people with the certs and the skills find it difficult.

He also mentions that Bart Saxey and Joy Saxey are no longer with Microskills. So now the school is without the people who founded it and ran it for most of its life so far. The school's owner has sold the real estate he owned and provided for the school. What will the future be for MIcroskills? Currently it is under the leadership of Charlie Kesinger.

You can go here to read Dans blog. If you want to see what the Saxeys are up to these days, go to the Mentored By Millionaires site, and do a find on the word "Bart". A get rich quick scam or a genuine way to build an independently wealthy lifestyle? You decide.
